Oh probably. When I was in college I had to walk past one frat that was between my apartment and campus - it always made me nervous. I dated one of the guys very briefly and he was ok. I know it's an over-generalization. I was also a hippie sort back then so I had a skewed vision of most everyone. I have also known some decent sales reps. I just know from my experience in tech support that the sales staff were more difficult than the customers. It was like a grown up version of the the nerds and jocks/cheerleaders in high school. @Kim - I resent that sales rep comment, as for the rest of your comment, I feel that you may be referencing some repressed memories from your past

The fact of the matter is that there is a difference between “bros” and “frat guys”. One of those differences is that a bro would never think a girl would think watching him practice hockey would be fun…a bro simply wouldn’t care about said girl.

Bros often attribute to the sterotypical “frat boy” image, but having been in a fraternity once upon a time ago, I can attest to there being a difference.

I’m with Mitch on this - it’s not as prevalent or as noticeable as you grow older. I didn’t really think of them as bro’s but rather just the frat guys. The kind of guys who think it’s really fun for a girl to watch him practice hockey.

I think when they get older the become sales reps.

Interesting take. Though I can’t equate myself with the term “bro” (I must be too old for that), I can equate myself with some of these situations, especially when I was in college. There was “college cool”, where people affected a certain look and language, then there was “natural cool”, where you just ended up being cool without really knowing why. Guess who lucked out and got to be in the “natural” club.

Haha. Loves it. I was in a fraternity here at the University of Missouri. Luckily my frat was just about completely opposite of all other frats, totally chill, liberal, service oriented and not in anyway bro-tastic.
